Mir Sailing Ship arrives in Bremerhaven, Germany

On May 25, 2017 the Mir training sailing ship moored in the German city of Bremerhaven.

In accordance with the schedule the ship’s berthing will last till May 29. The sailing ship will become the brightest participant in the annual colorful sea holiday “SeeStadtFest 2017” together with the yachts from different world countries.

During the mooring, “an open board” will be organized on the Mir bark. The sailing ship’s crew will take residents and guests of the city aboard and organize the ship tour for all comers.

Cadets of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping and its branch, Voronin Arctic Maritime Institute, who are undergoing training aboard the ship, will be able to take a walk along the city and go sightseeing Bremerhaven.

On May 29 the ship will leave for the regular voyage. Next point of destination is Cuxhaven.

Bremerhaven is the port of Bremen, together they form a separate region (land) which is and the smallest in Germany. This city is rather new: it was founded in 1827 and situated upon the sea, therefore why all sightseeing attractions are related to the sea. Translated from the German language the name of the city means “the Bremen harbor”. As of today Bremerhaven is a major passenger container terminal.
