Executive Director of FSUE "Rosmorport" participates in the Prayer Service to St. Nicholas

On May 22, 2017, a prayer service was held to celebrate the Patronal Saint’s Day at the Patriarchal courtyard in the Church of St Nicholas of Myra in Lodochnaya which is a spiritual center of all sailors in Russia.

The event was attended by the assistant of the Russian President Igor Levitin, acting director of Rosmorrechflot Victor Vovk,  the deputy heads of Rosmorrechflot Yuri Kostin and Konstantin Stasiuk, the chairman and trustees of the Fund for the construction of the Patriarchal courtyard in the Church of St Nicholas of Myra in Lodochnaya: Alexander Davydenko, Princess Olga Kulikovskaya-Romanova, Executive Director of FSUE "Rosmorport" Andrei Lavrichev, as well as the heads of subordinate enterprises of Rosmorrechflot.

The Prayer Service was conducted by the Vicar of the North-Western Vicariate of Moscow, rector of the Donskoy Monastery, Reverend Father Paramon, who participated in the consecration of the stone in the foundation of the church on March 30, 2016. A celebration feastival has been held right after the main event.

The constructed Church will become a spiritual center for the workers of the Marine Industry and all other areas of water transport. Construction is expected to be completed in November 2017, right in time for the 100th anniversary of the election of St. Tikhon Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.

The Church is being constructed using the best traditions of the Russian Temple Architectures. On the eastern side, the Temple will have three altars. The main one shall be dedicated to St. Nicholas, the patron of all sailors and travelers. The second altar will be built in the name of Saint John the Apostle. The third is going to be named after the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Tikhon, whose election positively influenced the re-establishment of the Institute of the patriarchate in the autumn of 1917.
