The assisted living facility “Moryak” is a traditional place for the celebration of patriotic events. A pioneer fleet established with a direct participation of the Hero of the Soviet Union first polar explorer Ivan Dmitrievich Papanin was allocated in this place. Fleet troops were known as ship's crews. They acquired their names in honour of different vessels. Vessels' crews, in their turn, undertook patronage of the young seamen. Every year a route march in memory of the soldiers fallen at the Great Patriotic War fronts was held in the camp. At the initiative of the students in memory of the fallen residents obelisks were established in the nearest villages. After some time the Moryak Health Resort was established at the fleet location.
