Yevgeny Vasilyev Workboat with Ice Strengthening Solemnly Launched at Onezhsky Shipyard

On February 21, 2017, Onezhsky Shipyard solemnly launched Yevgeny Vasilyev Workboat with ice strengthening of Project ST23WI-М for FSUE Rosmorport.

The launching ceremony was attended by Artur Parfenchikov, the Acting Head of the Republic of Karelia, by Elissan Shandalovich, the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia, by Sergey Kurov, Deputy General Director for Fleet of FSUE “Rosmorport”, by Vladimir Mayzus, Director of the Onezhsky Shipyard and by other public officials. There was a traditional christening of the workboat during the ceremony. According to a naval tradition, a sponsor of the workboat Irina Shabalina, Deputy Chief of Industry and Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, broke a ceremonial bottle of champagne over the bow that signified the beginning of its “new life”.

Launching the workboat on the water is one of the stages of its construction. The vessel is planned to be in service on river estuaries, coastal areas of open and inland seas, straits, port waters within the distance not more than 20 miles from the place of refuge. The workboat meets the latest environmental and technological standards in the field of shipbuilding, has high nautical characteristics, modern means of communication and navigation, good habitability conditions for the crew.

The workboat is planned to be in service in FSUE “Rosmorport” of the Astrakhan Branch.
