Project for constructing specialized grain terminal in Zarubino seaport (Primorsky Territory) included in the region territorial planning scheme of the Russian Federation

A project for constructing a specialized grain terminal in the Zarubino seaport has been included in region territorial planning scheme of the Russian Federation under Resolution No 96-р dated January 26, 2017 issued by the Russian Government.

The terminal for grain handling with the capacity of 10 tons per year is planned to be constructed in Khasansky District, Primorsky Territory. The capacity of the first launching complex will be 3.5 million tons.

The terminal under construction will be used for handling of Russian grain, as well as transit cargoes of agricultural northern provinces of China.

The implementation of the project will help  develop the transport and transit potential of the country and  expand trade turnover between Russia and the Asia Pacific Region states.

On September 2, 2016 FSUE “Rosmorport” and JSC “United Grain Company” signed an agreement on cooperation to implement the project for the designing period as part of the Eastern Economic Forum in the presence of Deputy Minister of Transport of Russian Federation, head of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport Viktor Olersky.

At present, JSC “United Grain Company” is developing project documentation on the facilities of the terminal.

The territorial planning scheme is a fundamental document that ensures sustainable development and increases the investment attractiveness of the Russian region. Making entries on the specialized grain terminal will provide an opportunity to create conditions for expanding the Zarubino seaport and including land lots to be used for constructing the terminal into its boundaries which will increase its capacity.
