From January 2017 maintenance dredging was continued in the Makhachkala Seaport. Main purpose of the operations is to maintain nominal dimensions of the underwater hydraulic seaport structures.

Overall 420 thousand m3 of ground is expected to be extracted this year. The draft of the Maintenance Dredging Operations in the water area and approach channels of the  Makhachkala Seaport up to 2019 was approved in 2014 after gaining prior approval from the State Environmental Expertise.

Starting from 2015 repairing dredging is conducted by personal FSUE “Rosmorport” dredger as well as by contracting organizations all year round.

At present a bucket ladder dredger “Dnestr”  together with mud boats and a new Trailing suction hopper dredger “Sommers” built in 2016 in the Plant “Krasnoe Sormovo” for FSUE “Rosmorport”  are operating on the object.

Mud disposal is conducted through  discharge line by ashore pumping with the help of the deep-well pump “DOP-200”.
