On September 16, 2016 a solemn ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers to the Eternal Flame in memory of the Great Patriotic War was held in Novorossiysk.

The event was attended by the Acting Head of the city of Novorossiysk Municipality Igor Dyachenko, Chairman of the City Council, Alexander Shatalov, Executive Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Lavrischev, Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Anna Fomenko and others.

The ceremony was dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of the defeat of Nazi troops at the city walls. Those present war heroes, veterans, home front workers, together with the heads of the hero-city of Novorossiysk, maritime industries, public and religious organizations laid a wreath and observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims.

Then a theatrical performance and a concert-requiem took place.
