On September 12, 2016 Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Maksim Sokolov visited the seaport of Murmansk maritime station as a part of working visit to the city of Murmansk.

The head of the ministry inspected the works performance process on reconstruction of maritime station. He noted good pace and quality of the works being carried out and expressed his confidence in the fact that the reconstruction will be completed on time.

“This facility is important for residents of Murmansk and the nearest localities, which are remote and accessible only by water transport. I am sure that completion of works and commissioning of the facility will become a good present for all residents of the Murmansk region”, - said Maksim Sokolov.

Together with the Minister of transport, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation – Head of the Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport Viktor Olersky, the first Deeputy Governor of the Murmansk Region Grigory Stratiy and also Executive Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Lavrishchev visited the maritime station.

Completion of works is scheduled for September, 2016. Ceremonial opening will be held in October, 2016 and timed to the 100^th anniversary of the city of Murmansk.
