On September 11, 2016 the Khersones sailing ship left the seaport of Sevastopol to take part in one of the races of Black Sea Tall Ships Regatta 2016.

The renovated sailing ship will join two other frigates of FSUE “Rosmorport” - Nadezhda and Mir – on the way to Novorossiisk.

The visit will last for three days and then the vessels will leave for Sochi. Within the regatta grandiose shows will be organized in all cities: a solemn parade of sailing vessels, a march of sailings vessels crews on city streets and festive fireworks.

The repairs of Khersones were completed in August, 2016 and in early September the sailing ship successfully passed sea trials. Cadets of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution “Moscow State Academy of Water Transport” and the Sevastopol branch of Admiral F.F. Ushakov Maritime State University will take part in the Black Sea Regatta. The cadets are passing practical training aboard the vessel.
