Mir Sailing Ship Arrived in the Seaport of Sochi

On August 19, 2016 the owned by FSUE “Rosmorport” Mir sailing ship called at the seaport of Sochi.

The training vessel will stay in the city for about 10 days, then it will head for Romania to take part in SCF Black Sea Tall Ships Regatta 2016.

The main purpose of the stay in Sochi is replenishment of consumables and preparation to the further competitions.

The first stage of the regatta starts on September, 8 and is carried out on the Constanta (Romania) – Novorossiysk route. Traditionally, Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping cadets, who are currently passing training practice on the vessel, will take part in the competition.

Within the Black Sea Regatta, Mir will cross the Black Sea twice and will visit four seaports: Constanta, Novorossiysk, Sochi and Varna.

In total, the competition will be attended by 13 vessels, of which six are of the A class. They include: Russian frigates Nadezhda, Khersones and Kruzenshtern barque.
