FSUE “Rosmorport” Transfers Catamarans to “Orlenok” and “Artek”

On July 16 FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko and General Director of FGBEI ARCC “Orlenok” Aleksandr Ddzheus signed act of transfer of Sochi- High-Speed Passenger vessel to the All-Russian Children’s Center. The official ceremony was held in the presence of the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Government Olga Golodets, Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Dmitry Livanov, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratiev, director of the Department of state policy in the field of education of children and youth of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Stradze.

Andrey Tarasenko presented to children a commemorative sign on the vessel transfer and wished them to maintain the maritime professions status, develop independence and curiosity, as well as explore the Krasnodar Territory coasts.

The vessel crew demonstrated the catamaran abilities, having conducted a demonstration voyage, which was attended by children from “Orlenok”.

Earlier, Sochi-2 catamaran was transferred to “Artek” International Children’s Center. After signing the act of transfer of the vessel by Andrey Tarasenko and FGBEI ARCC “Artek” Director Aleksey Kasprzhak, Sochi-2 catamaran has officially become the part of the children's camp flotilla.

The Russian Federation Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolow wished Artek’s children to gain strength and health, and also expressed his hope for catamaran to help in making the stay in “Artek” one of the brightest events in their lives.

Vessels transferred to the famous children’s centers will be used for conduct of excursions and practical works under educational programs in maritime field.

Sochi-1 and Sochi-2 catamarans are double-decked vessels with capacity of 300 passenger seats each. Their cabins have panoramic windows, are equipped with air conditioners, comfortable seating, bars, radio and TV.
