Russian Flag Raised on Severnaya Dvina Dredger

A solemn ceremony of raising the Russian Federation national flag on Severnaya Dvina dredger build under the FSUE “Rosmorport order was held in Arkhangelsk on July 14, 2016.

The event was attended by the FSUE “Rosmorport” Executive Director Andrey Lavrishchev, Minister of Transport of the Arkhangelsk region Vadim Krivov, Head of “The city of Arkhangelsk” Municipality Igor Godzish, Deputy Chairman of the Arkhangelsk City Duma Tatiana Borovikova and other officials.

Andrey Lavrishchev noted that the new vessel is able to operate in harsh climate of the northern region, allowing to ensure necessary for navigation safety depth in the seaport of Arkhangelsk and in many other arctic seaports.

During the event, Vadim Krivov made congratulatory speech on behalf of the Governor of Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov. He wished the labor staff of FSUE “Rosmorport” further successful development, solving complex technical problems and success in work for the benefit of Russia and the Arkhangelsk region.

“Commissioning of Severnaya Dvina dredger will open a new page in the chronicle of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch. This is a significant contribution to the enterprise in the development of the Northern Sea Route and the Arctic zone”.

The Russian Federation state flag was raised on the new Severnaya Dvina dredger under the sounds of the Russian Federation anthem. During the event, Acceptance act for the vessel was signed.

The dredger was named after a river in the north of the European part of Russia, which flows into the Dvina Bay of the White Sea near Arkhangelsk and Severodvinsk. FSUE “Rosmorport” plans to use the dredger for maintenance of the determined navigational depths and ensure safety of navigation in the seaport of Arkhangelsk water area and approaches to it.

This project meets the latest requirements in the field of vessels designing and building. The vessel is able to operate in an ambient temperature range -35 ° C to + 40 ° C.

The dredger was built on “Song Thu Corporation” shipyard (Da Nang, Vietnam). Vessel’s keel laying was held in November 2014, launching - in November 2015. Dredging equipment control and configuration, as well as water trials of the vessel, were carried out until May 2016.
