On June 26, 2016 FSUE “Rosmorport” pilot and surveying vessels finished escort of Yury Kuvykin transport-assembly barge on the Volga-Caspian Seaway Canal (VCSC).

The Barge departed from the seaport of Astrakhan on June 22 towards facilities of hydrocarbons offshore field n.a. V. Filanovsky located 220 km from the seaport.

The vessel is designed for transportation and placement of large constructions. Barge length is 150.4 m., breadth – 62.3 m.

Till the end of the year it is planned to take out another two large objects, designed for arrangement of oil and gas condensate field in the Caspian Sea.

To ensure rated depths of the shipping canal, FSUE “Rosmorport” carries out dredging works in accordance with the “Project for conduction of dredging works at 0-188 km section of the Volga-Caspian Marine Shipping Canal for the period to 2018 with development of environmental measures. The offshore part”, which received a positive conclusion of the State Ecological Expertise (Rosprirodnadzor approved by order No. 2319 of the Southern Federal District dated 09/09/2013).

Currently repairing dredging on limiting canal sections is carried out by 10 separate dredger convoys and dredging vessels. Besides, new FSUE “Rosmorport” dredging vessels arrived in the seaport of Astrakhan: Somers trailing suction hopper dredger and Petr Sablin milling pile-line dredger.

In 2016 the enterprise plans dredging works on the VCSC in the volume of 5.8 million m³.
