As a part of the 20th Petersburg International Economic Forum FSUE “Rosmorport” and PJSC Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port signed an agreement of intent on June 16, 2016 to determine the conditions for the society's involvement in a project to construct and operate the dry cargo area in the seaport of Taman.

The document was signed by FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrei Tarasenko and PJSC Novorossiysk Commercia Seaport General Director Sultan Batov in the presence of Russian Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov.

The agreement determines measures to maintain bilateral cooperation in implementing the project.

The creation of the dry cargo area in the seaport of Taman envisions the construction of sea terminals on transshipment of coal, sulphur, metals, mineral resources, as well as transshipment of oil and legumen crops on the Taman Peninsula. Glavgosexpertiza (the Main State Expert Review Board) and the State Environmental Review approved the project. The port designed power will be 91.4 million tons, including on the first stage.

The project is planning to be implemented through a public-private partnership, including by concluding a concessionary agreement.
