Yuriy Romaneko Boat Launch At Onezhsky Ship Building And Ship Repairing Plant

On June 10, 2016 an official ceremony of Yury Romanchenko mark boat launching was held at Onezhsky Ship Building And Ship Repairing Plant.

The launching ceremony was attended by Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev, Russian Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov, Head of the Republic of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen, General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Tarasenko, General Director of “Onezhsky Ship Building And Ship Repairing Plant” Vladimir Maizus and others.

Nikolai Patrushev thanked the plant workers for their work. He noted that the scope of implemented orders has increased, they are performed qualitatively, thereby increasing the range of enterprise's vessels.

“The plant has prospects. There will be new workshops, new orders and qualitative products” - he said.

Security Council Secretary also congratulated those present with the Day of Karelia and wished them success in their work and increase in number of orders and production.

The Minister of Transport of Russia Maksim Sokolov drew attention to the significance of the event for the entire Republic.

Maksim Sokolov noted the high workload of the plant – currently, a portfolio of orders for the construction of 12 vessels has been formed. The total amount of funds that will be allocated for their implementation, will amount to almost 2.5 bln. rub.

General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Tarasenko thanked the employees of the Onezhsky Ship Building And Ship Repairing Plant for their work and congratulated them with the Day of Karelia.

During the event a traditional ceremony of vessel “christening” was held. According to the naval tradition Tatiana Peron, an Honored Artist of the Republic of Karelia, broke a bottle of champagne over the bow of a vessel, marking the beginning of its “new life”.

Also, within the ceremony Nikolai Patrushev and Maxim Sokolov visited the workshop of the enterprise and meet with the workers of the plant. In particular, they have been shown workboats of ST23WI project - M and self-propelled hopper barges of HB-600 project, that are under construction.

The construction of the Yuri Romanchenko boat was carried out for the purpose of servicing navigational aids (ATON) to ensure safety of navigation in the water areas the country seaports. Also, the vessel will carry out transportation, service of average sea buoys with anchor devices and work on control and maintenance of ATON. The use of boats is planned in the FSUE “Rosmorport” Azov Basin Branch.
