Official Ceremony of the Kronshlot Dredger Launch

On June 8, 2016 official ceremony of the Kronshlot dredger of the TSHD 1000 project launch took place in “Zavod Krasnoe Sormovo” OJSC shipyard in Nizhny Novgorod. 

Executive Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Lavrischev, General Director of “Zavod Krasnoe Sormovo” OJSC Nikolay Zharkov, Head of the Nizhny Novgorod Administration Sergey Belov, General Director of the Corporate Group “Morskie I Neftegazovye Proekty” Dmitry Khritin and others took part in the event.

In the course of the event a traditional ceremony of vessel “christening” took place. According to marine tradition Zhikhareva Nadezhda, a “Kronshlot's” ”godmother”, broke a bottle of champagne over the vessel's bow inaugurating the beginning of its “new life”.

“Kronshlot” is one of the three dredgers with the hold capacity of 1000 m3. The first vessel of this project Sommers was launched on January 29, 2016. To increase the field of application, all vessels of the line are equipped with a multifunctional submersible dredge pump of the “DOP 200” type.

Construction is carried out in a modern and high-tech Russian shipyard - “Zavod Krasnoe Sormovo” OJSC. The vessel project was approved by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and meets the requirements of the regulatory and supervisory authorities of the Russian Federation. 

In future, FSUE “Rosmorport” will be entitled to use project documentation to construct vessels based on this design in Russian shipyards. Moreover, the method of construction has already been passed to “Krasnoe Sormovo” Plant where Russian shipyard personnel completed training on construction technology and received a developed vessel project approved by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

Taking into account that the development of the world's merchant fleet is intended to increase the size of vessels, the seaports competitiveness directly depends on their water area depths. A new dredger will allow FSUE “Rosmorport” to maintain water areas and approach channels of the seaports by conducting dredging works quickly  and in a qualitative manner.
