Nadezhda Sailing Ship Sets Its First Sail of 2016

On June 2, Nadezhda sailing ship departed from the seaport of Vladivostok and set its first training sail of 2016. The vessel, on board of which 111 cadets from maritime college under MSU n.a. G. I. Nevolsky do practical work, headed for Shanghai to participate in “Transport Logistic China – 2016” international exhibition.

During the official ceremony of seeing off the sailing ship, Deputy General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Sergey Kurov, rector of MSU n.a. G. I. Nevelsky Sergey Ogay and other honorable guests made a greeting speeches for cadets and the crew. They wished the cadets a prolific and calm voyage, and also traditional “seven feet under the keel”.

Transition of the sailing ship to China will take a bit more than 10 days: on June 13 Nadezhda will be moored at berth of the international terminal of the seaport of Shanghai. During four days the cadets of college will be full participants of the transport exhibition. According to the planned program, the vessel will be visited by Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Maksim Sokolov and Consul General of the Russia Federation in Shanghai Aleksey Evsikov.

The sailing ship will stay in Shanghai till June 17, and then the vessel will return to Vladivostok.
