General Director Of FSUE “Rosmorport” Participates In The Final Extended Meeting Of The Collegium Of The Ministry Of Transport Of Russia

General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Tarasenko participated in the final  extended meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, which was held on April 12, 2016 in The House of the Government of the Russian Federation.

The RF President's Assistant Igor Levitin and Deputy Chairman of the RF Government Arkady Dvorkovich gave welcome speeches.

Within the meeting, the Minister of Transport of the RF Maksim Sokolov made a report “On results of activity of the Ministry of Transport of Russia for 2015, goals and objectives for 2015 and planned period till 2018.”

The participants of the meeting noted that the previous year was productive for the transport industry. In particular, seaports played significant role in increase of competitiveness of the transport system of the country.

As the Minister of Transport of the RF Maksim Sokolov reported, in 2015 the increase in transshipment facilities amounted to 23 mln tonnes due to implementation of activities on development of the infrastructure of the seaports of Saint Petersburg and Murmansk.

 Last year the total volume of transport through the seaports and points of the Northern Sea Route water area amounted to 5,5 mln tons of cargo. Besides, the RF Government approved an Integrated Project of the North Sea Route Development, completion of which by 2030 will ensure transit transport reliability and removal of hydrocarbons from extraction sites located on the Arctic coast and the continental shelf.

Renewal of the Icebreaker fleet of the country is ongoing. In 2015 the State flag of the country was risen on two diesel and electric powered icebreakers of FSUE “Rosmorport”, Vladivostok and Murmansk.

“These are icebreakers of the new generation with unlimited navigation area and a high degree of automation, able to navigate in ice up to 1.5 meters thick,” Maksim Sokolov pointed out.

He also said that in conditions of the increasing traffic flows, issues of the integrated security of the RF transport are an absolute priority.

During the meeting, there were determined goals and objectives for 2016. One of the strategic directions is implementation of the investment projects for development of the transport infrastructure. Special attention will be paid to development of public-private partnership in the construction of infrastructure in all modes of transport. In the field of the maritime transport the main goals will be the Northern Sea Route infrastructure development, increasing the proportion of vessels under the Russian flag, as well as expanding export of transport services.
