British Consul General in St. Petersburg Visits Onezhsky Ship Building and Ship Repairing Plant

On March 14, 2016, as a part of the working visit to Petrozavodsk, the British Consul General in St. Petersburg Keith Allan visited the Onezhsky Ship Building and Ship Repairing Plant (OSBSRP).

During the visit the Consul General met with workers and toured the company's workshops. In particular, numerically controlled plasma cutting machines and workboats of project ST23WI – M, built under the FSUE “Rosmorport” order were demonstrated to him.

The Consul also reviewed the progress of construction of the self-propelled hopper barge, project HB600, official keel laying of which was held this February.

A specific feature of the vessel construction is the modular method of hull construction, which reduces expenditure and facilitates installation of additional equipment. Such decisions allow facilitation of maintenance and repair of the hull equipment during the operation of the barge.

The production capacities of the factory allow to perform a full cycle of works on vessel construction and repair, as evidenced by the history of successful shipbuilding contracts and transfer to the customer of twelve “river-sea” vessels with the deadweight of 5,400 tons, and six marine dry cargo vessels with the deadweight of 4500 tons over the past 10 years. Currently, an order backlog of more than 2 billion rubles has been generated for the OSBSRP.
