On March 9, 2016 Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation – Head of the Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport Viktor Olersky paid a working visit to the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch.

During the planned visit, Viktor Olersky reviewed the progress of reconstruction of the marine station of the Murmansk Seaport. Based on the results of the inspection of the facility, a work meeting was conducted with Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of the Murmansk region Dmitry Sosnin, General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Tarasenko, Head of FSI “Administration of Western Arctic Seaports” Sergei Didenko, acting Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport“ Murmansk Branch Alexander Bengert.

The participants of the meeting discussed the completion of the reconstruction of the marine station, the use of the distant lines pier to receive cruise liners and the development of port infrastructure in general.

The marine station in the Murmansk Seaport is under reconstruction in order to create objects of the border crossing checkpoint of the Russian Federation to perform the necessary border and customs procedures for passengers arriving in the city on ocean and marine cruise ships. Throughput capacity of the station after reconstruction will amount to no less than 120 passengers per hour.

The reconstruction is scheduled for completion in September 2016.
