Information on Icebreaker Support in the Seaports of the Russian Federation

From the start of navigation in the freezing seaports of Russia, as of February 19, 2016 the icebreakers of FSUE Rosmorport have escorted over two thousand vessels.

The world's largest diesel icebreaker fleet, which consists of 31 icebreakers of various capacity, guarantees year-round access to seaports of the country.

Arctic basin
Icebreaker support in the water area of the seaport Sabetta is provided by the icebreakers Moskva and Tor. The number of the vessels escorted to the seaport from the start of the icebreaker support amounts to 27.

The White Sea
The vessel traffic in this area is being provided by four icebreakers: Kapitan Evdokimov, Kapitan Chadaev and Dickson and Kapitan Dranitsyn. From the start of winter navigation over 143 vessels have been escorted.

The Gulf of Finland
At the moment 14 enterprise's icebreakers are operating in the region. From the start of winter navigation 532 ice escorts have been provided.

The Azov Sea
Four icebreakers: Kapitan Moshkin, Kapitan Chudinov, Kapitan Demidov, and Kapitan Krutov, are providing icebreaker support to the seaports Azov, Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog and Yeisk
The number of escorted vessels from the start of the icebreaker supporting amounts to 1247.

The Caspian Sea
Icebreakers Kapitan Chechkin, Kapitan Metsayk and Kapitan Bukaev are providing icebreaker support in the Volga-Caspian sea shipping channel.

From the start of winter navigation 447 vessels have been escorted.
