On February 18, 2016 the head of the Republic of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen paid a working visit to the Onezhsky Ship Building and Ship Repairing Plant (SBSRP).

The event was also attended by the Executive director of FSUE Rosmorport Andrey Lavrishchev and the Director of the SBSRP Vladimir Maizus.

Alexander Khudilainen met with workers and visited the workshops of the enterprise. In particular, they demonstrated him  plasma cutting machines with numerical program control, working boats of project ST23WI-M, under construction for FSUE Rosmorport, and told him about the upcoming kneel laying of a self-propelled hopper barge designed for transportation of soil during dredging process on February 19, 2016. This project is being implemented in the SBSRPfor the first time, kneel laying of two more similar vessels is planned in 2016.

The head of the Republic noted that the plant is loaded with orders to full capacity for the next three years

“Within a short time it has become a dynamically loadable shipyard” - A. Khudilainen pointed out. He also added that the high quality of work provided the plant with orders from the Ministry of Transport of Russia and FSUE Rosmorport.

The Head of Karelia noted that in many respects it was owed to highly skilled engineers, technologists, designers, plant workers, and he drew attention to the need for training young professionals.
