Pilotage Services of FSUE Rosmorport Perform over 120 Thousand Pilotages in 2015

One of the priority areas of work for FSUE “Rosmorport” is rendering pilotage services for vessels in the water areas of Russian seaports and on the approaches to them.

According to the results of 2015, the number of pilotage operations has increased in comparison with 2014 and amounted to over 120 thousand pilotages per year. The quality of the pilotage services rendered by the enterprise meets the world standards and national requirements.

 

The largest pilotage service of FSUE “Rosmorport” in Russia renders pilotage services in 54 seaports of the country. The number of the enterprise's pilots is over 600 persons. They perform round-the-clock pilotage of 70% of vessels entering the seaports of the country. Starting from June 1, 2015, the enterprise's pilots began rendering pilotage services in the Severo-Kurilsk Marine Terminal of Nevelsk Seaport, and performed over 350 pilotages over the navigation period.

 

The enterprise's pilots are trained in the leading maritime educational institutions of the country and abroad in accordance with the Merchant Shipping Code of the Russian Federation, Regulations on the Sea Pilots of the Russian Federation and recommendations of IMO Resolution 960 (23) dated 05.12.2003.

In order to organize pilotages of large vessels in Sabetta Seaport, which is under construction, a full training course for 4 pilots of the Arkhangelsk Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport” was promptly conducted in 2015, followed by attestation and obtaining certificates.

 

During the navigation period of 2015, over 300 pilotages were performed in the water area of the seaport under construction.

Moreover, another 5 ice pilots were trained and certified in the Arkhangelsk Branch, and in October 2015 they successfully performed first ice pilotages of ship convoys in the water area of the Northern Sea Route en route from the seaport of Sabetta to the seaport of Murmansk.
