The vessel Professor Megrabov has been in liquidation since October 2015  under bareboat charter contract of 02.12.2004 in the lease of SC Rimsco LLC.

In December 2015 the vessel was arrested in the seaport of Dalian (PRC) in accordance with the order for arrest of the sea vessel granted by the decision of the Admiralty Court of the city of Dalian dated 04.12.2015.

The Court decision to grant order for arrest was made on the basis:

• of the Statement of Claim of the company Jane International Inc. demanding the arrest of the vessel and the vessel charterer to grant the security deposit. The essence of the claim is the damage caused by the carrier during transportation of cargo (tainted frozen Alaskan cod weighing about 178 tons). At the moment of arrival in Dalian during the unloading of the shipment the smell of oil was detected, and therefore the consignee refused to accept the cargo.
• of the Statement of Claim of the company Globle Visa Co., Limited demanding the arrest of the vessel and the vessel charterer to grant the security deposit. The essence of the claim is the causing of considerable material damage due to the delay of delivery and its damage. By the decision of SC Rimsco LLC due to the breakage en route to Dalian the refrigerated transport vessel Professor Megrabov with cargo was under repair in the port of Busan (South Korea) for about two months.

According to SC Rimsco LLC 20 crew members are on the board of the vessel. Seven crew members are preparing for replacement in the near future. The vessel is provided with fuel, food and water. The representative of SC Rimsco LLC is working with the ship agent in Dalian on shifting of the vessel to another berth for connecting to the shore power supply.

The Russian Consulate General in Shenyang (PRC) has been notified of the situation.

The Rosmorrechflot subordinate enterprise FSUE “Rosmorport” is currently taking actions to ensure safety of the vessel, release of the vessel, and organize the ship transfer to a Russian port.
