On 8 September Executive Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Lavrischev visited Kholmsk and Nevelsk Seaports. The visit was organized within the business trip of Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Maksim Sokolov and acting Governor of the Sakhalin Region Oleg Kozhemyatko.
 
The official delegation examined Kholmsk Seaport infrastructure facilities and discussed issues on construction of a ferry complex and reconstruction of the port.
 
After the program of the visit was finished, the delegation also visited Nevelsk Seaport, where works on development, represented in the agreement concluded with LLC "Gornyak-2" at the Eastern Economic Forum, are planned. Prospects of the port development cover shelf projects what justifies construction of a relevant supply bases and multipurpose berths. Implementation of the project involves reconstruction of the approach canal, operational waters, modernization of wharfage and building of a modern coal terminal.
