General Director of FSUE "Rosmorport" Andrey Tarasenko has made a visit to seaports of Korsakov, Nevelsk and Kholmsk during his business trip to Far-Eastern Basin seaports from 12 to 13 July.

In Kholmsk Seaport there was a meeting with representatives from stevedor companies of the seaport, at which issues on improvement of inner cooperation in seaports of Sakhalin were discussed.

Andrey Tarasenko held a meeting on issues of survey and project work for reconstruction of Vanino-Kholmsk rail-road ferry on-shore facilities planned upon federal target program “Economic and social development of the Far-Est and the Baikal Region till 2018”.

The given crossing is the most important thruway that provides all year round communication between Sakhalin and the mainland of Russia. It stretches for 260 km and has cargo traffic capacity of 3.3. mln tons a year.

During the discussion it was noticed by Andrey Tarasenko that implementation of all the planned works will increase the volume of cargo transshipment. Reconstruction of the ferry crossing will improve the state of coasting affairs, increase competitiveness and turnover of national consumption goods in the Sakhalin Region.

On 13 July General Director of FSUE "Rosmorport" also held a meeting with the team of the Sakhalin Branch, during which prospects of the branch development were discussed. Thereupon, in a festive atmosphere, Andrey Tarasenko gave commemorative souvenirs to the distinguished employees for their professional achievements and high performance.
