On 11 August Assistant to President of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin has held a meeting on marine passenger transport development issues in Rostov-on-Don during his business trip.

The meeting that took place on board of Kapitan Bondarev motor vessel was attended by temporarily acting Governor of the Rostov Region Vasiliy Golubev, Deputy Head of Rosmorrechflot Viktor Vovk, General Director of FSUE "Rosmorport" Andrey Tarasenko, representatives from the State Duma, from the Federation Council, from Rosturism, executive authorities of the Rostov Region and CEOs of commercial corporations engaged in transportation of passengers by marine transport.

The participants discussed issues of cruise traffic development, presence of narrow passes in inland waterways and incompatibility of on-shore infrastructure for provision services for both passenger, and cargo vessels.

During the meeting General Director of FSUE "Rosmorport" Andrey Tarasenko reported on the current situation with facilities in seaports assigned to the enterprise and prospects of their improvement.

Having discussed accumulated issues, the participants set a range of goals that should be achieved in a comprehensive and co-ordinated way.
