FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Takes Part in Meeting on Construction of Cruise Terminal in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Seaport

On 22-23 April FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko visited Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky together with a governmental delegation.

During the visit Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Russian Presidential Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev held a meeting. It was attended by Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of Far East Sergey Kachayev, Governor of Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Ilyukhin, Deputy Head of Rosmorrechflot Sergey Gorelik, as well as representatives of the local and regional authorities and managers of the largest companies of the region.

The participants of the meeting discussed issues of creation of a priority social-economic development area in the Kamchatka Territory, i.e. an area with preferential tax treatment, simplified administrative procedures, and other preferences.

It is President of Russia Vladimir Putin who had spoken before on creation of such areas in Russia in his annual Address to the Federal Assembly dated 12 December 2013. The President suggested creating a network of special areas and zones with special conditions for non-energy industries, including the export-orientated ones, in the Far East and Siberia.

During the trip Andrey Tarasenko together with Head of FSBE “Administration of Sakhalin, Kuril and Kamchatka Seaports” Vladimir Shutko, and the officers of the administration, participated in the meeting chaired by Deputy Head of Rosmorrechflot Sergey Gorelik to discuss issues of port infrastructure development and construction of a cruise terminal in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Seaport.
