On 16 April the FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko and Secretary General of the Global On-Board Training Center Mr. Hisashi Yamamoto signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The major aim of the memorandum is cooperation on the issues of sailing training of foreign students on board of the Mir training sailing vessel. Students of foreign maritime educational institutions will be able to undertake sailing practice and to gain experience of Russian experts.

In the framework of the MoU, the International Organization Global On-Board Training Center in association with the International Marine Organization will take the function of formation of student groups for practice. The first international voyage to the Mediterranean Sea is planned to start in the end of 2015.

Signing MoU with the Global On-Board Training Center is another step for FSUE “Rosmorport” and the Russian Federation on the way to strengthening of the strategic partnership among marine educational institutions around the world, as well as between the marine educational institutions and commercial sailing companies in the field of sailing practice.
