From 02 till 05 April 2015 Deputy General Director for Fleet Sergey Kurov visited the Astrakhan Branch to resolve issues of localization and liquidation of the after-eddects of the abrupt shallowing of an area at 138.5 km of the Volga-Caspian Seaway Canal. The shallowing was caused by storms having occurred in the area from 28 till 31 March 2015.

At the joint meeting of FSUE “Rosmorport” and the Administration of the Caspian Seaports it was decided to perform repair and restoration dredging at the affected area of the canal.

At present the Artemiy Volynskiy dredger of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Astrakhan Branch is conducting repair dredging works at the 138-139 km of the affected area.
