Deputy General Director for Navigation Safety of FSUE “Rosmorport” Viktor Vanyukov made a working visit to the Astrakhan Branch of the enterprise.

The visit was aimed to check the reconstruction of the navigation safety system in GMDSS areas A1 and A2 in the approaches to Astrakhan Seaport.

Besides, Viktor Vanyukov inspected the VTS Control Center and GMDSS Control Center in Astrakhan Seaport, shore-based station and berth No. 10 in Olya Seaport, and also a pilotage station of the Volga-Caspian Seaway Canal and radio technical posts No. 2, 3 and 4.

Summarizing the results of the inspection, Viktor Vanyukov stressed that navigation safety remains a priority task for the Astrakhan Branch, and the navigation system in the Volga-Caspian Seaway Canal and in the Northern Caspian Sea shall meet international general rules. In this connection the Astrakhan Branch was given the task to complete reconstruction of GMDSS facilities of sea areas A1 and A2 of Astrakhan Seaport in May of the current year.

“Commissioning of GMDSS facilities will allow to organize vessel traffic, reduce vessel idleness and increase the regularity of fleet operations in the Astrakhan and Olya seaports”, stressed Viktor Vanyukov.
