General Director Participates in the International Conference on Ports and Navigation Development

On 1 October the 12th International fairy of transport “Transtek-214” started in Saint-Petersburg. The 4th International Conference on ports and navigation development took place within the fairy.
 
General Director Andrey Tarasenko made a report on topic: "Marine hub-port as a centre of competitiveness capacity raise of the Regions: Kaliningrad, Murmansk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky hubs".
     
General Director Andrey Tarasenko introduced to the audience possible prospects of deep-water hub-ports construction in the regions mentioned above. General Director underlined that construction of hub-ports in Russia will allow not only strengthen international contacts, but also develop already existing international transport corridors and create new ones, including the Northern Sea Route. Hub-ports construction makes interaction between branches more flexible and leads to improvement of port management development state regulation and support.
 
Possibility of realization of the project on deep-water hub port construction in Kaliningrad Region is currently studied. In the future volumes of transshipment in such port can reach the rate of 50 mln. tons annually and the passenger carrying capacity of  approximately 1 mln. person.
 
Andrey Tarasenko mentioned high potential for cargo traffic increase of transport corridors on the Northern Sea Route and possibility to turn ports of Murmansk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky into ports of world significance taking on account their geographical location, suitable depths and climate.
 
In the end of his speech General Director underlined that realization of the abovementioned projects will have positive effect not only on Russian marine seaports competitiveness, but on the country economics as well due to its transit potential realization.
