Sailing Ship “Mir” comes to Kaliningrad for the Scheduled Maintenance Work

On 29 September 2014 sailing ship “Mir” came to Kaliningrad at “Svetly” factory for maintenance work performed every 5 years in the frame of classification certificate. Maintenance work has been repeatedly performed at the mentioned factory, previously in 2009 and 2012. The current work is planned to be finished on December 2014.
 
By Rosmorrechflot Directive dated 26.05.2014 No. AD-207-r training sailing ship “Mir” was assigned to FSUE “Rosmorport” on the right of economic management. According to FSUE “Rosmorport” Order dated 25.06.2014 No. 253 “About the vesting of North-Western Basin Branch with property” on 17 September 2014 the ship was placed on the balance sheet of the North-Western Basin Branch.

Three-masted sailing ship “Mir” was built in 1987 at Gdansk shipyard (Poland) for the High Leningrad naval school of S.O. Makarov (present State University of Marine and River Fleet of S.O. Makarov) as a training ship for practical training of cadets. Over its history the ship repeatedly took first places at international sailing ships regattas.
