The Princess Maria and Snav Toscana passenger ships have moored in the new Cruise harbour of Sochi Seaport, which was constructed by FSUE “Rosmorport” in the framework of the federal program for construction of the olympic facilities and development of Sochi as a mountain climatic resort.

From 5 to 24 February the two cruise ships chartered by FSUE “Rosmorport” will serve as floating hotels for accomodation of spectators and temporary personnel of the winter games 2014. The ships offer more than a thousand cabins of different categories and can provide comfortable accomodation for more than 3 000 people.

The other day the Mir training salining ship of the State University of Marine and River Fleet named after admiral S.O. Makarov called at Sochi Seaport, earlier than planned. During the winter games 2014 this beautiful sailing ship will host the participants and guests of a sports festival in the framework of the cultural program of the games. Apart from training as crew members of the sailing ship, the students of the university will have the opportunity to volunteer at the winter games.

Sochi Seaport is now able to receive such ships thanks to the massive reconstruction completed by FSUE “Rosmorport” before the beginning of the winter games 2014. The reconstruction allowed to turn the seaport into an international center for marine passenger and cruise shipping, capable of handling almost 180 cruise ships and more than 460 ferries every year.
