On September 4-5, 2013 A.V. Tarasenko, the FSUE “Rosmorport” Acting General Director, made a working visit to Tokio together with the Russian delegation of transportation executives headed by the Minister of Transport of Russia M.Y. Sokolov.

During the trip Andrey Tarasenko took part in the 8th APEC Transportation Ministerial Meeting. The main theme of the meeting was development of the Asian-Pacific transportation system by improving the quality of transportation services.

The meeting was preceded by a business forum, during which the Russian delegation presented the projects of transportation and logistic infrastructure development in the Far East. The participants gave a special attention to prospects of the Northern Sea Route development and construction of Sabetta Seaport in the Yamal Peninsula.

To sum up the results of the 8th APEC Transportation Ministerial Meeting its participants outlined the main directions of promoting economic integration in the Asian-Pacific region by attracting massive investments into the transportation infrastructure, and increasing transportation safety.
