On March 1, 2013 the FSUE "Rosmorport" General Director Andrey Lavrishchev took part in the extended meeting of the Council of Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot).

Among the participants of the Council were Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia Viktor Olersky, Head of Rosmorrechflot Alexander Davydenko, heads of the service and agencies reporting to the Ministry of Transport, representatives of ministries, heads of organizations reporting to Rosmorrechflot, joint stock companies, associations of sea and river transport, scientific and public organizations.

The agenda of the meeting featured discussion of the main results of the sea and river transport activities in 2012, tasks for 2013 and middle-term tasks up to 2015.

The participants of the meeting noted that the cargo turnover of the seaports of Russia in 2012 increased by almost 6% in comparison with 2011, and reached more than 567 tons. The targets were exceeded both in bulk cargo and in liquid cargo. The increase in cargo transshipment is supported by the constant expansion of port capacities, which last year were increased by 72.5 mililion tons. In 2013 it is planned to expand the port capaxities by another 54 million tons.
