Icebreakers of FSUE “Rosmorport” have provided pilotage for more than 6.5 thousand vessels during 2023-2024 ice navigation period

FSUE “Rosmorport” summarizes the results of the icebreaker assistance period of 2023-2024. In the completed season, icebreakers of the enterprise conducted pilotage of more than 6.5 thousand vessels in the waters of the frozen seaports of the Russian Federation and on the approaches to them.

The last one to complete the work was the Dikson icebreaker, which provided pilotage in the White Sea for vessels calling at the seaport of Arkhangelsk and in the opposite direction. The end of the icebreaking period in the White Sea was announced by the order of the captain of the seaport of Arkhangelsk on May 18th.

Winter navigation period in the White Sea is usually the longest. The first icebreaking operations in the completed 2023-2024 season were performed in the seaport of Arkhangelsk water area in November. In total, more than 370 vessels were conducted in the White Sea by the enterprise's icebreakers.

The most intensive navigation in the winter season was in the Sea of Azov (over 2.5 thousand vessels) and in the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea (almost 2.2 thousand). Icebreakers of the FSUE “Rosmorport” conducted assistance to about 950 vessels in the Caspian Sea and about 430 in the Sea of Okhotsk and the Tatar Strait.

FSUE “Rosmorport” provides icebreaking assistance for vessels in the waters of 16 frozen seaports of Russia and on the approaches to them. A total of 34 fleet units were involved in the icebreaking operations in 2023-2024.
