Sergey Pylin, General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport”, took part in a patriotic event on the eve of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The solemn event, traditionally held in the capital, was attended by a delegation of the Ministry of Transport of Russia headed by Vitaly Savelyev, Minister of Transport of Russia, Andrey Tarasenko, Head of Rosmorrechflot, Co-chairman of the Coordinating Council of Veterans Organizations at the Ministry of Transport of Russia Yuri Mikhailov, veterans of the transport industry, as well as heads of enterprises of the transport complex and industry educational institutions.

Russian transport workers visited Novodevichy Cemetery, laying flowers at the graves of honored workers of the country's transport complex. Rear Admiral Ivan Papanin, Minister of Railways of the USSR Boris Beshchev, Minister of the Navy of the USSR Peter Shirshov, Minister of the River Fleet of the RSFSR Zosima Shashkov, People's Commissar of Railways and Heavy Industry of the USSR Lazar Kaganovich, People's Commissar of Railways of the RSFSR Peter Kobozev, People's Commissar of Railways Andrei Andreev are buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery.

The participants of the patriotic event also honored the memory of the heroes who died in battles for freedom and independence of the Fatherland by laying a wreath and flowers at the Eternal Flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Gardens. The solemn ceremony was accompanied by the orchestra of the Preobrazhensky Regiment. 

The event ended with the parade of the Presidential Regiment's guard of honor and the laying of flowers by transport workers at the monuments on the Alley of Hero Cities and Cities of Military Glory in Alexander Gardens.

At the end of the program, a festive concert and a traditional meeting with veterans were held at the Russian University of Transport in order to preserve the historical memory of the feats of our ancestors at the front and in the rear. A field kitchen, an exhibition of military equipment, as well as an interactive program were organized for the participants of the patriotic event.
