FSUE “Rosmorport” presents digitalization projects during the demo day of industrial competence centers in transport

FSUE “Rosmorport” took part in the events of the industry demo day “ICCs in transport: from import substitution to high-tech export”. The demo day took place on April 24 at the Russia Expo and was supported by the Ministry of Transport of Russia.

Representatives of the country's largest transport companies, who head four transport industry centers, spoke about the projects being implemented and completed within the industrial competence centers. Besides FSUE “Rosmorport”, Russian Railways JSC, Aeroflot PJSC, Sheremetyevo International Airport JSC took part in the event.

The marine industry digitalization projects of the ICC “Sea and River Transport” were presented by Sergey Simonov, Deputy General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport”. At the moment, the ICC portfolio includes two foreign software replacement projects aimed at ensuring the safety of navigation in the waters of seaports, with a total cost of 77 million rubles.

In December 2023, FSUE “Rosmorport” successfully completed a pilot project on switching Sochi Vessel Traffic System (VTS) to Russian software. Sitronics JSC is the contractor of the project. Based on the results of an extraordinary inspection of Sochi VTS, FSUE “Morsvyazsputnik” drew up an act on conformity of the coastal facility to all the requirements of the Ministry of Transport of Russia.

“The Russian VTS software has been successfully operating in Sochi for 4 months and has proven itself well. Foreign software is completely switched off,” Sergey Simonov said, adding that Sitronics Company has developed software that has much broader functionality than the previous one. Currently, work is underway to prepare the replication of the developed software for all enterprise VTS.

The second ICC project is to create an information system for pilotage activities. Intellectika Consulting LLC is the contractor. Within the project, the system is being developed that will improve the efficiency of the organization of the enterprise's pilotage services. Today, more than 500 pilots provide pilotage services in 53 seaports and terminals in Russia, so the project is extremely important for digitalization and ensuring the smooth operation of the pilotage service.

The implementation of the system in pilot seaports (Big Port of St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Olya) is planned for 2024. Automation of more than 130 pilots and dispatchers is planned. Today, the project is being implemented in a routine mode.

Sergey Simonov also noted that all digital development projects that were being implemented by FSUE “Rosmorport” at the moment were aimed at creating a consolidated enterprise ecosystem consisting of many interconnected digital services for effective operation and achieving strategic goals.

Thus, in addition to the projects implemented within the ICC, the FSUE “Rosmorport” Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch has put into commercial operation a pilot version of the Service Portal designed to speed up interaction with contractors, optimize the processes of service provision and billing. A Unified Information System for fleet maintenance and repair management has also been put into commercial operation. Projects are being worked out to use speech and text recognition to optimize the operations of VTS dispatchers and operators, and it is planned to create a virtual simulator for pilots. There are activities aimed at developing the functionality of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Situational Center – a web application based on “digital twin” technologies which includes interactive maps of branches, ports, property and fleet of the enterprise, dashboards on the main indicators of financial and economic activity; integration with external and internal data sources has been provided. In addition, a project to create a single centralized database for all ship calls at Russian seaports named “RMP – Traffic” is being prepared for implementation.

The enterprise actively uses innovative solutions in the field of shipping development. FSUE “Rosmorport” eco-ferries Marshal Rokossovsky and General Chernyakhovsky which carry out transportation on the Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad line received Russia's first certificates of marine autonomous and remotely controlled surface vessels at the end of September 2023. The vessels are equipped with a-Navigation equipment, including an autonomous navigation system, an optical system for analyzing the environment and condition of the vessel, a motion and maneuvering control system, as well as a monitoring and surveillance system.

The demo day “ICCs in transport: from import substitution to high-tech export” was held at the Russia Expo as part of an educational program, the general partner of which is the Russian “Znanie” Society. Sergey Simonov gave a comment to Znanie.TV Channel live, talking about the importance of advanced foreign software replacement projects being developed by the ICC “Sea and River Transport”. The demo day was organized by the Digital Transport and Logistics Association.

At the end of the demo day, during an organized press approach with the participation of key speakers, Sergey Simonov answered questions from federal and industry media about maritime transport digitalization projects being implemented by FSUE “Rosmorport”.

The first demo day of the ICC “Sea and River Transport” was organized by FSUE “Rosmorport” in November 2023 at the XVII International Exhibition “Transport of Russia”.

The ICC for the replacement of foreign industry-specific digital products and solutions began work in the summer of 2022 on the initiative of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Four ICCs have been formed in the transport industry, which are currently implementing 18 projects totaling 19.3 billion rubles. ICC “Sea and River Transport” is headed by Sergey Pylin, General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport”.
