Icebreaker assistance season ends in the seaport of Vanino

On April 1, the period of icebreaker assistance ended in the waters of the seaport of Vanino, the largest one in the Khabarovsk Territory, and on approaches to it.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreakers Magadan and Kapitan Khlebnikov, which performed assistance in the Tatar Strait, the Sea of Japan, in the waters of the seaport of Vanino and on approaches to it, returned to its register seaport of Vladivostok.

The Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreaker started operating in the completed season in early January, while the Magadan icebreaker – in early February.

The end of the icebreaker assistance period in the seaport of Vanino was announced by the port captain pursuant to the improvement of weather conditions, clearing of the seaport water area and approaches to it from ice and a favorable hydrometeorological forecast.

The icebreakers of FSUE “Rosmorport” continue to provide assistance to vessels proceeding to Russian seaports of the Baltic Sea, White Sea and Okhotsk Sea.

During the ice navigation period, FSUE “Rosmorport” provides icebreaking services to vessels in the waters of 16 freezing seaports of Russia and on approaches to them. The enterprise's largest icebreaking flotilla includes 34 icebreakers and ice-class tugs.
