FSUE “Rosmorport” participates in the NEVA 2023 Exhibition as official partner

In the period from September 18 to September 21, 2023, FSUE “Rosmorport” participates in the events of the XVII International exhibition NEVA 2023, dedicated to civil shipbuilding, navigation, port activities and shelf development, as an official partner.

This year, the NEVA Exhibition features an exhibition display dedicated to the main achievements of the enterprise during its 20-year activity for the benefit of the marine industry, in the Baltic Basin as well. There is a photo booth of FSUE “Rosmorport”, decorated in a marine style, at the stand where guests and participants of the event can take memorable shots at the steering wheel.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” screens show media content about the enterprise's activities: work of the world's largest icebreaking flotilla led by the flagship of the fleet – the Viktor Chernomyrdin icebreaker; development of ferry services between the Kaliningrad Region and the rest of Russia using innovative dual-fuel automobile and railway ferries Marshal Rokossovsky and General Chernyakhovsky; organization of navigation practice on the Mir sailing training vessel for cadets of maritime universities and week-long sea expeditions for everyone together with the UNDER SAIL nautical club. In addition, visitors can see models of the vessels listed above in the FSUE “Rosmorport” exhibition area.

On September 19, when the exhibition opening ceremony took place, Vasily Strugov, Deputy General Director for Fleet of FSUE “Rosmorport”, attended the plenary session “Russian Marine Industry: New Priorities in View of Global Challenges” featuring Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia Alexander Poshivay.

Together with Kirill Gaida, Deputy General Director for Navigation Safety of FSUE “Rosmorport”, Vasily Strugov held a working meeting with representatives of the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping at the university's booth. The Deputy General Directors of FSUE “Rosmorport” discussed topical issues of training personnel of marine specialties with Sergey Baryshnikov, Rector of the country's leading sectoral university.

The day earlier, on September 18, Kirill Gaida and Alexander Leshchikov, Deputy General Director for Security of FSUE “Rosmorport”, participated in the strategic session “Lighthouse Project: Autonomous Navigation – Demand for New Technological Solutions and Business Opportunities” and a business brunch also dedicated to a-Navigation issues.

Introduction of autonomous navigation requires solving a number of additional tasks which were discussed during the session. Today, projects for the development of a-Navigation are not commercial for FSUE “Rosmorport”, the main task is the pilot operation of technologies in order to provide the possibility of mass implementation of such systems for shipowners.

“Nevertheless, we believe the introduction of autonomous navigation to be an additional mean of ensuring navigation safety, as it will free a shipmaster from a number of related tasks. Mass implementation is expected to significantly reduce operating costs in future,” Kirill Gaida commented.

On September 19, during an evening program, FSUE “Rosmorport” was awarded a commemorative award for its comprehensive support of the projects of NEVA-International LLC, assistance in creating a high-quality discussion platform for expert communication and decision-making.
