On September 10, the Nadezhda sailing training vessel took part in a large Parade of Sails event at the 8th Eastern Economic Forum. The parade was held in the water area of the Amur Bay, the seaport of Vladivostok. The vessel also accompanied sailing races timed to coincide with the largest business event of the Far East – a children's and youth regatta and a regatta of cruising yachts of different classes.

More than a hundred different sailing vessels took part in the Parade of Sails, including two large training sailboats – Nadezhda of FSUE “Rosmorport” and Pallada of the Federal Agency for Fisheries – with raised sails, which brightened the parade and for several hours pleased guests and residents of Vladivostok who watched the beautiful spectacle from the shore.

The route of Nadezhda sailboat began at the 30th berth of the seaport of Vladivostok, where the grand opening of the Parade of Sails was held to the musical accompaniment of the orchestra of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch.

During the event, there were students of the Young Patriot of the Motherland Club onboard the sailboat alongside with crew members and cadets undergoing training on the vessel. For the purpose of professional education and raising interest in maritime professions, a tour of the vessel was organized for the children where they learned how trainees lived and could watch how the crew and cadets were opearting sailing weapons while setting sails. Several more tours for students of educational institutions will be held onboard Nadezhda sailboat during the forum days.

In the evening, an award ceremony was held at the 30th berth with the participation of Sergey Pylin, General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport”, and Evgeniy Pankratov, Director of the Far Eastern Basin Branch of the enterprise, for the winners of the children's and youth sailing regatta, the cruising yacht sailing regatta and the Far East Cup international sailing regatta, during which seven crews on 40-foot yachts covered the distance of 1,000 miles from the Chinese city of Qingdao to Vladivostok across three seas: Yellow Sea, East China Sea and Japan Sea.
