Coastal infrastructure installations for autonomous navigation (based on e-Navigation) and domestic samples of vessel equipment for autonomous navigation (based on a-Navigation) are being developed within the framework of the Autonomous Navigation Project. From 2022 to 2023, a number of experimental design works are being carried out for these purposes. Production of prototypes of equipment will be carried out according to the results of the works.

FSUE “Rosmorport” participates in the implementation of prototypes of shipboard equipment and coastal infrastructure installations for autonomous navigation (based on a-Navigation and e-Navigation).

During 2024 the enterprise plans to introduce developed prototypes of domestic coastal communication and navigation equipment, including new-generation VTS, on the enterprise's vessels and in the waters of individual ports.

The introduction of new technologies will increase the competitiveness of maritime transport and improve transport logistics in Russia. The availability of domestic solutions in the field of autonomous vessels, which are already developed, allows for a gradual implementation, as well as to obtain a positive result.

In the future, the introduction of autonomous navigation will significantly reduce the impact of the human factor on the maritime transportation safety and will lead to reduce of the cargo transportation costs by reducing operating costs.
