Pilots from the FSUE “Rosmorport” Petropavlovsk, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk branches took part in a computer simulation of the towing operation of piloting and unsecuring a floating gas storage facility (FGSF) at the raid site in the water area of the seaport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in the Bechevinskaya Bay.

The operation is planned as part of the final stage of construction of the facility “Marine transshipment complex of liquefied natural gas in the Kamchatka Region”.

The simulation of the towing operation, as well as handling and holding at the FGSF installation point was performed from April 25 to 28, 2023 in St. Petersburg on the basis of Portoviy Kontrol LLC.

The pilots of the enterprise who participated in the project have considerable experience and qualification in pilotage of large-sized facilities, gas carriers, tankers and bulk carriers with a length of 300 m or more.

The towing operation in the Bechevinskaya Bay will be completed in 2023. Transportation of FGSF will be carried out by the method of sea towing by vessels of the transport-and-towing-vessel type.
