The Khersones sailing ship takes part in Sea Festival in Sochi

The Sea Festival was held in Sochi on July 6-7, 2019. It was timed to the jubilee: the seaport of Sochi celebrates its 85th anniversary. A vast cultural program with support from the city administration was prepared for amateurs of maritime subject matters.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” Khersones training sailing ship, which was operating in an order of open board, became a special guest of the program. Cadets of maritime educational institutions conducted educational tours aboard the sailing ship for all interested people. The visitors of the festival could learn about the construction of the sailing ship and the lifestyle on the legendary frigate.

The Knyaz Vladimir cruise liner also welcomed guests on its board. The participants of the event could learn more about the touristic ship which has been connecting the Black Sea ports of the Caucasus and Crimea for three years. In accordance with its route the liner arrived at the seaport of Sochi from where it would leave for a new voyage.

Thematic photo exhibitions, master classes of marine painters and other entertainment took place on the North Pier Head and the Cruise Harbor of the seaport of Sochi over an area of 1.000 square meters. A concert program was held in a non-stop order and united actors of different genres.

Two ships, which were simultaneously moored at the seaport, stressed the resort city’s sea charm and helped create the holiday atmosphere. An opportunity to attend the ships sparked the public’s interest: more than 5.000 people visited them over the six hours.
