“Rosmorport. Distance Is Not an Obstacle” event takes place in Kaliningrad

On April 27, 2018, the “Rosmorport. Distance Is Not an Obstacle” event took place in Kaliningrad as part of the celebrations marking the 15th anniversary of FSUE “Rosmorport”.

Ten employees of the Kaliningrad Division of the North-Western Basin Branch rowed in two boats along the 43-kilometer Kaliningrad Canal, passing by all enterprises of the regional seaport complex. The canal is about 10 meters deep and 50-80 meters wide.

Having reached the canal's northern end, the participants solemnly raised the FSUE “Rosmorport” flag at Russia's westernmost point. The distance was covered in 7 hours and 10 minutes despite the head wind and waves.

A series of events as part of the “Rosmorport. Distance Is Not an Obstacle” action started on March 13, 2018 at the Murmansk Branch, with the Rosmorport flag raised at the mainland Russia's northwesternmost point – Cape Nemetsky on Rybachy Peninsula.

On April 12, 2018, employees of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch raised the Rosmorport flag on the Markotkhsky Ridge in the northwestern part of the Greater Caucasus.

Other divisions of FSUE “Rosmorport” will follow suit, with the Sakhalin and Far Eastern Basin Branches joining in the east of Russia, and the Makhachkala Branch in the south.

The event is designed to show the company's vast outreach and reaffirm its key role in ensuring the safety of navigation, providing services to ships on shore, at sea, in ports, and along the Northern Sea Route.
