FSUE “Rosmorport” takes part in meeting on export logistics optimization

On October 16, 2017 FSUE “Rosmorport” Deputy Director-General for Navigation Safety Viktor Vanyukov and director of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Anna Fomenko took part in a working meeting chaired by Russian Deputy Minister of Transport - Head of the Federal Agency for Maritime and Inland Shipping Viktor Olersky. The meeting involved Russian First Deputy Agriculture Minister Dzhambulat Khatulov, responsible executives of both ministries, the Rosmorrechflot deputy heads, representatives of major exporting companies, Russia's Grain Union, heads of the sea basins administrations, captains of seaports of Russia's South.

The meeting focused on optimization of export logistics and mechanisms of cooperation between cereal-growers and transport workers in the long- and mid-term.

The record grain harvest and the world's largest export turnover of Russian grain put agricultural producers, traders and water transport enterprises to the tasks requiring closer interaction and coordination of actions of all participants.

In view of the increasing level of crop shipment by water transport through the Kerch Strait navigation safety and vessel mooring in this area acquire special significance. FSUE “Rosmorport” VTMS of the seaports of Kavkaz and Kerch performs control over the movement of vessels.

The participants in the meeting determined a set of measures relating to strategic forecasting of shipment and vessel working in harbor transfer areas in the water area of the seaport of Kavkaz.

In the course of a constructive dialogue, the parties noted the possibilities of jointly resolving critical key issues. The parties decided to continue cooperation in this format.
