Executive Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Participates in a Meeting of the Marine Board

FSUE “Rosmorport” Executive Director, Andrei Lavrishchev had taken a part in a meeting of the Marine Board under the Government of the Russian Federation in Sochi on October 9, 2017. The meeting had been chaired by Dmitry Rogozin, the Russian Prime Minister.

The Marine Board meeting was attended by Aide to the President of the Russian Federation, Igor Levitin, the Minister of Transport of Russia, Maxim Sokolov, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, Sergei Donskoi, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation and Rosmorrechflot Head Viktor Olersky, Deputy Head of Rosmorrechflot, Viktor Vovk as well as heads of regions, transport companies and associations.

The meeting focused on the issues of Russian national security in the field of maritime affairs in 2016 and proposals to ensure it. Particular attention was paid to the environmental security.

The meeting participants have also discussed the implementation of the Marine Board decision as of December 21, 2016 regarding the development of Balaklava Bay in Sevastopol.

In addition, the meeting had also addressed the question of feasibility and prospects of the research vessels construction based on technical projects for a multipurpose research vessel and a general-purpose research maritime vessel of an unrestricted navigation area, developed within the framework of the Federal Target Program “Development of civil marine equipment” for 2009 - 2016 years.

Respect for the environment is one of the most important priorities of FSUE "Rosmorport", which conducts its business in full compliance with the requirements of international norms and environmental legislation of the Russian Federation. In the framework of the Activity Programme of FSUE "Rosmorport" for the planned period 2018-2020 as well as long-term - 2021-2029, in order to ensure the environmental security, the environmental fleet of the enterprise is scheduled to be replenished by 11 new environment protection vessels.
