FSUE “Rosmorport” Branches VTS Services Management Takes Part in Operational Meeting

The management of the FSUE “Rosmorport” branches' vessel tracking management services took part in an operational meeting aboard the Knyaz Vladimir cruise ship on September 26-28, 2017.

The meeting focused on the state of and prospects for the development of VTS in Russian seaports where FSUE “Rosmorport” carried out its activities. Particularly, the management discussed issues related to developing and establishing new norms in the field of creating, operating and certifying navigation safety coastal facilities, training and re-training operators and engineers, keeping the watch and other issues.

By presenting their reports the branches' representatives shared their experience, spoke about promoting the quality management system (QMS) in VTS and touched upon prospects for expanding the QMS area on all navigation safety and transport security coastal systems in the water areas of the country's seaports being under FSUE “Rosmorport” economic jurisdiction.

The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the need to preserve the high level of training of specialists by further training (re-training) of the respective personnel of VTS and GMSSB.

Upon completion of the meeting the FSUE “Rosmorport” employees noted the need to comply with the common system approach toward ensuring the enterprise’s navigation safety.
