FSUE “Rosmorport” partner's shift opens in Artek Children's Center

On September 2, 2017 the FSUE “Rosmorport” partner's shift opened at the Artek International Children's Center.

A solemn parade was held on the fire square of the center. The flags of the Russian Federation, the Artek International Children's Center, FSUE “Rosmorport”, educational programs of the shift and the partners' programs – Russia's Transport Ministry and Rosmorrechflot were hoisted.

Young members of the Artek Center were greeted by deputy director for education of the Artek International Children's Center Anton Denisov, Yalta Seaport Captain Boris Furman and other honored guests. They congratulated the children with Knowledge Day held on September 1, and wished them to think creatively, not to fear to take decisions and become real captains of their future.

After the greeting message under good tradition the guests were initiated as members of the Artek International Children's Center. They tied the white ties with the applause of the audience. Then the children built a fire on the fire square in sign of opening the shift. A dancing flashmob was conducted on the square where every group of children demonstrated prepared exercises accompanied by cheers and chants. In conclusion of the solemn ceremony, presents were given on behalf of FSUE “Rosmorport”. Young researches were given the most necessary things, comfortable rucksacks for long-range voyages, wind jackets in case of the bad weather, pens for notes and flash cards to download useful information.

On September 3 children of the partner's shift were able to confirm their status of jack tars. Children ventured into navigation skills and compete in rowing on yawls, which had been presented to FSUE “Rosmorport” specially for training programs.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” shift has accommodated in the Rechnoy Children's Center where children are taught to make sails, boat seamanship, bind knots and read the stars in open sea. The educational process in the Artek Center is not only fascinating classes but also joint researches and projects, training outside the classroom.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” program, “Aquatoria of Future”, will last in the Artek International Children's Center till September 20, 2017. It involved 69 children from 22 Russian regions. The participants in the program, children, who are winners of the all-Russian competition, “My Port”, arrived at the famous children's center to acquire new skills and find new friends.

The purpose of the project is to implement education programs, which contribute to patriotic education of the young generation and strengthen respect to the glorious historical past of Russia as a naval power. The project has been worked out by a group of experts in the field of programs of additional education and it is aimed at promoting maritime professions and support maritime traditions.
